Van Build Technician (Level 2 | Electrical-Focused)

Arvada, United States

Location: Arvada, CO (on-site)
Employment Type: Full-time, hourly
Compensation: $28.00–$45.00/hr depending on experience (see details below)
Schedule: 4×10-hour shifts, Tuesday through Friday (3-day weekends)
Reports To: Production Manager

About the Role

As a Van Build Technician (Level 2 – Electrical Focus) at Overland Design-Build, you’ll put your skills to work enhancing Winnebago Revel and Winnebago Ekko vans. Unlike full conversion shops, ODB specializes in modifying, improving, and installing both our in-house engineered products and high-quality aftermarket components.

Your primary focus will be 12-volt electrical systems — installing charge controllers, relays, fuse panels, outlets, and lighting, as well as more advanced upgrades like lithium batteries, solar, and DC-DC charging. Because these systems integrate with Winnebago’s factory architecture, precision and reliability are critical.

But your work won’t stop at wiring. You’ll also help with non-electrical installs such as cargo carriers and boxes, suspension upgrades, seating, bumpers, and ladders. Every day will bring variety, from running clean wiring looms to bolting on gear that makes vans more capable and adventure-ready.

You’ll collaborate closely with our Production Manager and shop team, contributing to a culture where craftsmanship, efficiency, and innovation all matter. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor junior technicians, shape installation standards, and influence product improvements as ODB continues to grow.

If you’re excited by the idea of making Revels and Ekkos more functional, reliable, and fun for owners, this role is for you.

📅 Schedule: Our shop runs on a 4×10 schedule, Tuesday through Friday, so you’ll enjoy long weekends to recharge or get outdoors.

What You'll Do

  • Install electrical systems: Execute clean, high-quality wiring for charge controllers, relays, fuse panels, outlets, fans, and lighting. Take on advanced upgrades like lithium battery banks, solar, and DC-DC charging.
  • Specialize in electrical design. Become the go-to expert for electrical layouts and troubleshooting on Revel and Ekko platforms.
  • Work on Revels & Ekkos: Specialize in Winnebago’s flagship adventure vans, ensuring ODB-manufactured products and aftermarket upgrades integrate seamlessly with factory systems.

  • Read and troubleshoot: Interpret wiring diagrams, perform system tests, and ensure reliability in every build.
  • Keep the shop sharp: Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workspace.
  • Collaborate & mentor: Share your knowledge with junior technicians, contribute to build reviews, and help refine how we work.
  • Shape the future of ODB. Help refine installation processes, influence new product development, and raise the bar for craftsmanship in every build.
