Ultimate Revel Safe Seat Upgrade | 2021+ Winnebago Revel
Revel 2nd-row seating retrofit
This is a safety-focused aftermarket seating retrofit for 2021-2024 Winnebago Revel vans. DOT/NHTSA does not issue a separate approval for this type of aftermarket RV seat installation, and ODB does not represent the completed installation as DOT-approved, NHTSA-certified, OEM crash-tested, or FMVSS-certified.
Construction details
The seat base is fabricated from a 3/16 inch thick structural steel base with a 1/4 inch thick seat-base top plate. The assembly is through-bolted through the vehicle floor using 1/2 inch Grade 8 steel hardware and 3/8 inch thick load-spreading backing plates, creating a clamped floor/base assembly rather than relying on light-gauge brackets or sheet-metal fasteners.
Seat belts and child-restraint provisions
The retrofit uses automotive-style 3-point seat belts with webbing-sensitive emergency-locking retractors that lock under rapid belt payout. It also includes lower child-restraint anchor provisions and top-tether points for compatible forward-facing child seats. The retrofit is not marketed as a certified child restraint system.
DOT/NHTSA and certification
DOT/NHTSA does not issue a separate approval for this aftermarket RV seat installation. ODB describes the upgrade as an aftermarket seating retrofit and does not claim that the completed installation is DOT-approved, NHTSA-certified, OEM crash-tested, or FMVSS-certified.
