Revel HydroLink™ Winterization Guide (2021–2024)

Compressed-air winterization procedure for 2021–2024 Winnebago Revel vans upgraded with ODB HydroLink™ plumbing. No RV antifreeze enters the fresh-water system.

Locked setting: regulate the ODB blowout tool output to 55 PSI. Do not exceed this pressure at the van-side connection.

What You Need

  • ODB Pro RV Winterization Blowout Tool.
  • External air compressor with at least a 2-gallon tank and 2 CFM at 90 PSI. Small onboard tire compressors are not sufficient for this process.
  • Compressor-side regulator set to 100–150 PSI feeding the ODB tool, with the tool output regulated to 55 PSI.
  • Approximately one gallon of RV antifreeze for the drain system only.
  • Safety glasses and towels for residual water at fixtures.

Before You Start

  • Drain the grey tank completely, then close the grey drain valve.
  • Empty the cassette toilet.
  • Turn the water pump off until the procedure asks for it.
  • Close all fixtures, including the kitchen faucet, main shower, rear shower, and cassette toilet flush.
  • If your van has a GuzzleH2O filter, leave the housing installed for now and remove the carbon filter later in the procedure.

Step-by-Step Procedure

  1. Drain the fresh-water system. Open the ODB HydroLink panel, run the drain function until flow stops behind the passenger rear tire, then close the drain valves.
  2. Connect the blowout tool to the fresh-tank fill port. Keep the tool valve closed. Set the compressor-side regulator to 100–150 PSI, then set the ODB tool output to 55 PSI.
  3. Purge the fresh-tank fill line. Open the tool valve for 3–5 seconds, then close it. This clears the fill path without pressurizing the fresh tank for an extended period.
  4. Move the tool to the exterior City Water / Tank Bypass / System Blowout port. Connect the hose and leave the factory check valve alone. Reinstall the dust cap when finished.
  5. Purge each fixture one at a time. Open the farthest fixture first, run cold until only air and mist remain, close it, then repeat on hot. Work through the kitchen faucet, main shower, rear shower, and cassette toilet. Repeat the pass once more if water continues to appear.
  6. Shut down air and the pump. Close the tool valve, turn off the compressor, bleed pressure from the hose, and confirm the water pump is off.
  7. Service the GuzzleH2O filter if equipped. Remove the carbon filter cartridge, reinstall the empty housing hand-tight, and store a fresh replacement cartridge for spring startup. Replace the carbon filter every six months or about 1,000 gallons.
  8. Protect the drain system. Pour approximately 3/4 gallon of RV antifreeze down the sink and macerate it into the grey tank. Pour approximately 1/4 gallon into the cassette toilet. Do not put RV antifreeze in the fresh-water tank or fresh-water lines.

Quick Checks

  • Only air and a faint mist should come from each hot and cold fixture after purging.
  • The fresh-water tank and pressurized fresh-water lines should contain air, not antifreeze.
  • The sink drain, grey tank, and cassette toilet should contain RV antifreeze.
  • The GuzzleH2O carbon filter should be removed before freezing storage.

FAQ

Do I need both compressed air and RV antifreeze?

Yes. Compressed air clears the pressurized fresh-water system. RV antifreeze protects the drain side, grey tank, and cassette toilet. The two products protect different parts of the van.

Can I use my onboard air compressor?

No. Use an external compressor with enough tank volume and flow to move water through the plumbing runs.

Do I need to bypass a water heater?

No. ODB HydroLink Revel systems use a tankless design, so there is no water-heater tank to bypass.

How much RV antifreeze should I use?

Plan on roughly one gallon total: about 3/4 gallon through the sink drain into the grey tank, and about 1/4 gallon into the cassette toilet. None goes into the fresh-water system.
