EPOCH - 12V 334Ah MC Essential Series LiFePO4 Battery
A 12.8 V, 334 Ah (4.28 kWh) heated LiFePO4 house battery in one powder-coated steel case, with Victron CAN-bus and Bluetooth monitoring built in. ODB installs it as part of a designed power system: sized, fused, mounted and configured for your van.
- Capacity: 334 Ah, 4,275 Wh nominal (Epoch planning figure: 3,420 Wh at 80%)
- Output: 300 A continuous, 600 A peak for up to 10 seconds
- Cold charging: internal heater, down to −20 °C (−4 °F) with a charger connected
- Integration: Victron CAN-bus (Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX) and the Epoch Li-Ion app
Installed by ODB only.
4.28 kWh of heated, Victron-ready house power
Epoch's 12334A-MC puts 334 Ah of LiFePO4 in one steel-cased battery. It talks to a Victron GX over CAN-bus, so your chargers follow the battery's own limits, and it warms itself before charging in freezing weather.
Why choose it
- More energy per battery. 4,275 Wh nominal; Epoch's planning figure is 3,420 Wh (80% of nominal).
- Charges in the cold. With a charger connected and the cells below 0 °C (32 °F), the heater warms them and the BMS holds charge until they pass 5 °C (41 °F).
- Victron integration. Connected to a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX, the host battery acts as the controlling BMS and sets charger voltage and current limits through DVCC. The GX shows a multi-battery bank as one battery.
- Full visibility. The Epoch Li-Ion app (iOS and Android) shows state of charge, voltage, current, cell voltages, temperatures, heater status, cycle count and protection history.
- Balanced cells. 2 A active balancing keeps the four cells matched across the full state-of-charge range.
Good to know
- Indoor only. The case is IP21: protection from fingers and vertically dripping water only. It mounts upright in a dry, protected interior space, never in an engine bay, an exterior bay or anywhere it can be sprayed or submerged.
- The heater needs a charger. It runs only while a charger is connected. Warm-up can take up to 60 minutes, and the battery does not keep itself warm in storage.
- Recommended vs. maximum. Epoch recommends 150 A for daily discharge and up to 167 A charge per battery. The 300 A figures are maximums, not design targets.
- 12 V systems only. Parallel only; Epoch does not approve series wiring for this model.
- Plan the bank up front. Epoch requires paralleled batteries to match in age, condition and state of charge, sit within 0.05 V of each other before connecting, and be individually fused on equal-length cables.
- Heavy. 75 lb (34 kg). It must be secured to structure, not set on a shelf.

FAQ
Can I buy it and install it myself?
No. ODB sells this battery as part of an ODB installation, and we don't install batteries or other parts that customers supply.
Will it charge below freezing?
Yes, with a charger connected. The heater warms the cells first, which can take up to 60 minutes. With no charger connected, the heater does not run.
Does it work with my Victron system?
Yes. With a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX it connects over CAN-bus and controls your Victron chargers through DVCC. Without a GX, chargers are set to a custom LiFePO4 profile from Epoch's manual.
Can I add another battery later?
Plan for it now if you can. Epoch requires batteries in a parallel bank to match in age, condition and state of charge, so a new battery added to an older one may not qualify.
